What causes back Pain? What is the best way to sleep to eliminate back pain?

  1. My back pain is caused by my sleeping on my stomach. It strains my neck, especially. I try to sleep on my back or side, and it is much better.
  2. alot of things can cause back pain. its probably better to ask your doctor about this one.
  3. My doctor told me that the number one cause of back pain was weak back muscles. He gave me some exercises to do to strengthen them and it worked! I know not having the right matress can cause it too. You might need a softer or harder bed. You could try a sleep number bed. Just a thought.
  4. pillow under your legs if you sleep on your back. pillow inbetween your legs if you sleep on your side.
  5. Various causes. Sleep with a small pillow. On your back--pillow under your knees. On your side--pillow between your knees. And if you just have to sleep on your belly--put a small pillow right below your ribcage--where it feels comfortable. This puts the natural curvature back in your spine. But the rule is: laying around too much makes back pain worse. Get up & get moving--sit with your shoulders back & natural curvature in your spine. That's why physical therapists give their patients that little half-circle pillow to lean back against. I hope this helps!!
  6. For time being u may sleep on stomach on Hard bed. Backward and Side bending Postures of Yoga helps a lot.
