what are the causes of lower back pain?
I've just been to a festival and on the last morning (this morning) I got a really painful lower back, like my kidneys. Is this from too much drinking, lack of sleep...etc..? I'ts a permanent ache which causes it to be uncomofrtable to sit in positions. Could it be a kidney infection? Could there be any other causes other than the amount of alcohol intake?

- How much alcohol did you consume? It's highly probable that your kidneys had to work overtime and could be inflamed if you drank to the point of toxicity. Did you do anything other than drink to that may have caused your back to hurt? Did you do any excessive lifting (other than your glass)?
- You need to be seeing a doctor. No one on here can diagnose you.
- It could be besides drinking too much, a pulled muscle. Try this to see if it gets better. Stand up next to a chair, life your leg and lay it across the chair knee down. Now with your knee supported on the chair flex your hips forward until you feel a slight pulling in the front of your leg and in your butt. Now do the other leg. If it is a pulled muscle from over walking this will pull the muscle out a bit and get it to quit cramping. And yes even though you are pulling out your leg muscles they run up the small of your back. Try it. It might just work for you.
