Can cancer of the breast cause upper back pain?

Can cancer of the breast cause upper back pain? I have upper back pain and discomfort on the center of my chest, that cover a little of the right area of my breast. I haven't been diagnosed with cancer.

2. It sounds more muscular than like breast cacner. Breast cancer in the early stages is usually painless.
3. Yes it can. The breast tissue mussels go under your arm to your back so sometimes you can get what is called radiating pain. The best bet of relief is a heating pad or ice as every one is differant so try one if it does not help try the other. And you may want to ask the doc for a mussel relaxer like flexeral or cyclobenziprin but both are by perscription only so your doctor will be the one to priscribe meds. Also some times a hot shower may help. Best to you and hope the pain calms down. Carol
